PTI’s politics revolve entirely around its founder chairman: Asif

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif while strongly criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday asserted that the party’s sole concern revolves around its founder Chairman.

In a post on social media platform X, he said that the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is preoccupied with organizing a “release force” for Imran Khan, while remaining silent on terrorism and refraining from attending the funerals of martyrs.

He said that police personnel are being martyred on a daily basis, with some reportedly burned alive, yet the PTI leadership continues to prioritize its founder above all else, treating other critical issues as secondary.

The minister said that the provincial leadership is more focused on safeguarding the chief minister’s position than addressing provincial governance and national security challenges.

He also questioned PTI’s internal cohesion, asserting that the party has fragmented into multiple factions.

He said despite internal rifts and public criticism among party members, all PTI factions appear united on one point — that their founder should remain in jail.
