ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the pakistan stock exchange (PSX) remained bearish on Monday, losing 3,791.05 points, a negative change of 2.29 percent, closing at 161,805.02 points against 165,596.07 points on the last trading day, according to psx data.
During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 499.795 million shares with a traded value of Rs 19.438 billion, compared to 625.453 million shares valuing Rs 22.309 billion in the previous session. The market capitalization declined to Rs 17.990 trillion from Rs 18.389 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 487 active companies in the ready market, 66 advanced, 383 declined, and 38 remained unchanged.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Dost Steels Ltd. topped the volume chart with 40.063 million shares, followed by K-Electric Limited with 32.512 million shares and Crescent Star Insurance with 26.317 million shares.
The top gainers included PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which increased by Rs 353.00 to close at Rs 18,559.00, and Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited, which gained Rs 144.04 to settle at Rs 1,584.46.
On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited declined by Rs 151.74 to close at Rs 25,888.01, while The Thal Industries Corporation Limited fell by Rs 78.04 to close at Rs 776.81.
In the futures market, 318 companies traded, of which 13 recorded gains while 305 declined, according to PSX data.
