PSX witnesses bearish trend, loses over 1,174 points

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the pakistan stock exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Monday, losing 1,174.68 points, a negative change of 0.69 percent, closing at 169,497.36 points against 170,672.04 points on the last trading day, according to psx data.

During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 780.227 million shares with a traded value of Rs 33.420 billion, compared to 1,192.170 million shares valuing Rs 39.677 billion in the previous session.

The market capitalization decreased to Rs 18.747 trillion from Rs 18.877 trillion a day earlier.

Out of 483 active companies in the ready market, 217 advanced, 229 declined, and 37 remained unchanged.

Bank of Punjab topped the volume chart with 126.624 million shares, followed by Yousuf Weaving with 53.

100 million shares and F. Nat. Equities with 38.850 million shares.

The top gainers included The Thal Industries Corporation Limited, which increased by Rs 81.20 to close at Rs 893.24, and Indus Motor Company Limited, which gained Rs 57.67 to settle at Rs 2,067.01.

On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited declined by Rs 141.50 to close at Rs 26,256.50, while PIA Holding Company LimitedB fell by Rs 134.88 to close at Rs 17,764.00.

In the futures market, turnover stood at 179.224 million shares with a traded value of Rs 9.215 billion, compared to 675.625 million shares worth Rs 28.140 billion in the previous session.

Out of 330 futures-market companies, 106 recorded gains, 217 declined, and 7 remained unchanged, according to PSX data.
