SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Chaudhry Shafay Hussain inaugurated 4th edition of one-day Technology and Innovation Summit 2026 in Sialkot, where more than 85 stalls were set up showcasing various aspects of modern technology and industrial innovation.
The provincial minister visited most of the stalls and expressed keen interest in the products and ideas presented.
The summit was organised through the joint collaboration of the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SIMAP) and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
President SIMAP Zeeshan Tariq, Vice President (VP) SIMAP Abdul Momin, along with a large number of industrialists, business personalities, and skilled workers were present.
Speaking at the event, Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that 95% of the world’s surgical instruments are manufactured in Sialkot and exported globally, which is a testament to the city’s industrial excellence.
He further said that surgical instruments produced in Sialkot are highly valued in the United States, Europe, Canada, and other developed countries.
He said that the government is accelerating the process of establishing a new industrial estate in Sialkot to provide better facilities to industrialists. He added that many local entrepreneurs are keen to expand their businesses, which will create new employment opportunities and strengthen the economy.
The provincial minister highlighted that historic measures have been taken over the past two and a half years for the development of the industrial sector, and their positive results are now emerging. He emphasized that skilled workers associated with Sialkot’s surgical industry are proving their capabilities worldwide.
The provincial minister was given detailed briefings at various stalls. He appreciated the hard work, dedication, and innovation of the industrialists and skilled workers, expressing hope that such initiatives will continue to play a significant role in industrial development.
