Providing employment opportunities to special persons is priority, says Umme Farwah

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Divisional Director Social Welfare Umme Farwah Hamdani on Tuesday said the Punjab government was taking all possible measures for the welfare of special persons.

She expressed these views while addressing the wheelchairs distribution ceremony organized by mainstream association for disabilities at a local marquee. She said that providing maximum employment opportunities to the special persons was top priority.

She further said that Social Welfare department was arranging meetings with private establishments to create opportunities for the special persons. She said that the deputy directors Social Welfare department of all four districts of Multan division were directed to visit private establishments for special persons jobs.

"Special persons are our wings," she said and added the Punjab government initiated assistive devices, Himmat Card and other initiatives for special persons.

Head of Violence Against Women Center (VAWC) Muneeza Butt said that special persons were important segment of the society and such initiatives would be helpful for easing their lives.

On this occasion, president mainstream association Nadir Khan, Shakir Hussain Shakir, Mohsin Shaheen, head of disable welfare organization Karachi Babar Iqbal and others were present.
