Prompt action drains accumulated sewage water: MD WASA

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director Saqib Raza said that prompt operational response by WASA teams had cleared accumulated sewage water from multiple localities in Faisalabad as efforts had been intensified to ensure uninterrupted drainage services and fast-track repair of a critical sewer line on Millat Road.

He said that despite settlement issues in the drainage and sewerage line at Haq Bahoo Chowk on Millat Road, immediate relief had been provided to the affected areas through active field operations.

He said that WASA teams successfully removed stagnant water from Nigehban Pura Main Bazaar B-block and Mid City Chowk by using sucker machines under the supervision of Assistant Director O&M Farrukh Sagheer.

He said that Shadman Disposal Station was fully operational, resulting in complete clearance of sewerage water from adjoining localities including Chabban Main Road, Islamia Park, Chabban Street No.

1 to 7 and roads around Khadija Mahmood Trust Hospital.

He said that provision of quality drainage services to citizens was top priority of WASA and no compromise would be made on service delivery.

The operational staff was fully mobilized and machinery was functioning efficiently to provide immediate relief to the public facing sewerage issues, he added.

He also shared that repair and rehabilitation work on the affected drainage line at Millat Road Haq Bahoo Chowk had entered its final stages while WASA engineers were working continuously on-site. He expressed confidence that the drainage system would soon be restored fully to ensure smooth sewerage operations in the area.
