Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute, widely known for its flagship annual summit in Riyadh that attracts leading global investors and Wall Street executives, has announced the appointment of Princess Maha Al Saud as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The leadership transition has been reflected on the institute’s official website and comes at a time when the organization is actively expanding its global presence through international investment gatherings aimed at strengthening foreign investment flows into the Kingdom and beyond.

The development also comes ahead of the institute’s upcoming conference scheduled to be held in Rome later this month, following its earlier high-profile event in Miami in March, which was attended by several global figures, including US President Donald Trump.

The FII Institute is recognized as one of Saudi Arabia’s key economic diplomacy platforms. Alongside its annual Riyadh summit, the institute regularly hosts international forums in different parts of the world, bringing together policymakers, investors, and corporate leaders to discuss global economic trends and investment opportunities.

According to the institute’s updated leadership structure, Richard Attias, who founded the initiative and previously served as its Chief Executive Officer, has stepped down from the CEO role.

However, he will continue to serve within the organization as Chairman of the Executive Committee, maintaining a leadership position in its strategic direction.

Princess Maha Al Saud, who now takes over as CEO, brings a strong academic and professional background. She is a trained medical doctor and previously served as Vice President of External Relations and Advancement at Alfaisal University in Riyadh.

Over the years, she has represented Saudi Arabia at several major international platforms, including the G20 Summit and the Fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum, reflecting her experience in global engagement and institutional development.

Established in 2019, the FII Institute was founded with the backing of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), as its founding partner.

The institute emerged from the original Future Investment Initiative conference, which was first launched in Riyadh in 2017 and has since evolved into a major international platform for economic dialogue and investment strategy.

Over the years, the FII summit has grown into one of the most influential global investment gatherings, regularly attracting top-tier business leaders, financial institutions, and government representatives, positioning Saudi Arabia as a central hub in global investment discussions.
