Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a review meeting at the Prime Minister’s House on the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Package 2026. He formally launched the Rs 38 billion package, calling it the largest and most comprehensive Ramadan relief initiative in Pakistan’s history.

The Prime Minister announced that each beneficiary now receives Rs 13,000. This marks a significant increase from Rs 5,000 last year. He explained the hike aims to deliver stronger financial support to deserving families during Ramadan amid rising costs.

Payments flow through digital wallets via a transparent system. This approach cuts out long queues and safeguards beneficiaries’ dignity. The Prime Minister praised the institutions handling the rollout.

By the 8th of Ramadan, 64% of beneficiaries had received their funds. Verification and disbursement continue at a fast pace for the rest. Beneficiaries completed over 1.1 million digital transactions so far.

The government made more than 1.227 million automated calls to inform people about the package. The scheme covers all of Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Twelve banks and fintech companies partner in the distribution.

Real-time dashboards track payments to maintain transparency. Federal ministers, senior officials, State Bank representatives, and other stakeholders attended the meeting and updated the Prime Minister on progress.
