FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) Sub-Divisional Enforcement Officer (Price Control) PERA Tabish Mahmood Butt on Sunday conducted a detailed inspection of the fruit and vegetable market in Sadhar and closely reviewed the bidding process to prevent unjustified price hikes at the retail level.
During his visit, he examined the auction mechanism and assessed the demand and supply situation. He also monitored wholesale rates to ensure transparency and stability in pricing.
He directed commission agents to complete bidding process strictly in accordance with prescribed rules and regulations.
The enforcement officer stressed adherence to officially notified rates and instructed market stakeholders to prominently display rate lists while maintaining quality standards of fruits and vegetables.
Any attempt to create artificial shortages or indulge in hoarding would not be tolerated under any circumstances, he warned.
He said that providing quality food items to the public at government-approved rates is top priority of the administration.
Indiscriminate legal action would be taken against the violators found involved in profiteering or other unlawful practices, he added.
