FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The district administration has launched price control drive to protect consumers by controlling prices of essential commodities during the holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir chaired a meeting of price control magistrates and reviewed strategies for effective enforcement of government-notified rates. He directed that strict action should be taken against all those elements who were found selling essential items above the official rates.
He said that profiteering would not be tolerated under any circumstances and the price control magistrates should increase field inspections and ensure daily market visits and thoroughly verify rate lists.
He stressed continuous monitoring of market prices to prevent artificial inflation and hoarding. The violators should face heavy fines, sealing of shops and registration of legal cases, he added.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Fazal Abbas, Assistant Commissioners, PARAs, and officers from other relevant departments were also present in the meeting.
