MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) In a decisive move to ensure the uninterrupted supply of daily home necessities at subsidized rates during the holy month of Ramadan, Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan has issued strict directives to the Deputy Commissioners of Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber. In this regard on Thursday, acting under the special instructions of Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, the Commissioner ordered the district administrations to promptly address public complaints regarding price control and market irregularities.

According to official sources, the Prime Minister took serious notice of mounting complaints about overpricing and hoarding; consequently, he directed commissioners of all three divisions to review practical steps to stabilize essential commodity prices in line with officially notified rates. Subsequently, the Commissioner instructed Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates to mobilize field teams on an emergency footing and make the monitoring mechanism more vibrant and result-oriented.

Moreover, the Commissioner emphasized that providing maximum relief to the public remains the government’s top priority. He categorically warned that no shopkeeper would be allowed to charge above fixed rates; meanwhile, strict legal action would be taken against violators, particularly those failing to prominently display official price lists. A zero-tolerance policy, he reiterated, would be adopted against elements involved in artificial inflation and profiteering.

In addition, the administration has been directed to ensure ample supply of essential food items in markets across the division. Therefore, by strengthening surveillance, accelerating complaint redressal, and intensifying enforcement, the authorities aim to effectively shield citizens from inflationary pressures throughout Ramadan.
