ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) A review meeting on Ramazan bazaars was held under the chair of the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, where assistant commissioners shared updates on price control measures and relief efforts for the public across the city.

The meeting focused on the functioning of Ramazan facilitation markets set up to provide essential items at controlled rates. Assistant commissioners briefed the Deputy Commissioner on steps taken to ensure that prices remain within official limits and that relief reaches citizens during the holy month.

According to the briefing, price control operations are being carried out on a daily basis in all Ramazan bazaars. Officials are checking compliance with official price lists to prevent overcharging. In cases of violations, action is being taken, including arrests, registration of cases, and sealing of shops involved in overpricing or non-compliance.

The meeting was informed that price control magistrates are present in the markets throughout the day to address complaints from citizens.

These officers are responsible for monitoring prices, ensuring implementation of government rates, and responding to public concerns on the spot.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all assistant commissioners to ensure that the relief measures introduced by the government reach the general public without delay. He stressed that no lapse in price control or service delivery would be tolerated during Ramadan.

He further said that special focus is being maintained on both prices and quality of items being sold in Ramadan bazaars. The administration has been instructed to ensure that vendors follow the approved price lists and maintain standards set by the authorities.

Citizens were also urged to follow the official price lists while making purchases and report any violations to the concerned officials present in the markets. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining price stability and providing relief to residents throughout Ramazan.
