President, PM approve posthumous Sitara-e-Shujaat for Railway martyr Liaquat Ali

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Pakistan Railways Wednesday expressed profound gratitude to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for approving the posthumous award of “Sitara-e-Shujaat” for martyred gang mate Liaquat Ali in recognition of his exceptional bravery and sacrifice against terrorism.

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi thanked the President and the PM for a great honour for the martyrs of the nation, said a news release issued here by the Pakistan Railways.

The minister said the award was approved in acknowledgment of Liaquat Ali’s unmatched courage, devotion to duty and sacrifice while thwarting a potential terrorist incident.

Hanif Abbasi said the martyrdom of Liaquat Ali was a source of pride and inspiration for the entire nation.

He said that such decisions provide comfort and encouragement to the families of martyrs while also sending a strong message of national unity and solidarity.

Pakistan Railways reiterated its commitment to honouring the sacrifices of its martyrs and assured that the institution would continue to stand by the families of those who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
