PPP leader pays tribute to Imam Hussain (AS) on Karbala sacrifice

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2026) Pakistan People’s Party District Chiniot leader Syed Kaleem Ali Amir paid tribute to the eternal sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his devoted companions on 5 Muharram.

He said the Battle of Karbala is that great and eternal decision of truth and falsehood which encouraged the oppressed to stand firm against the oppressor.

He said that by not bowing his head before Yazidi dictatorship and falsehood, Imam Ali Maqam (AS) not only raised the flag of islam forever but also taught humanity an eternal lesson of freedom of thought and freedom.

He added that the journey of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) was not for power or worldly glory, but his aim was to reform the religion of his grandfather, establish justice, and end oppression and tyranny.

Syed Kaleem Ali Amir said that despite intense hunger and thirst in the scorching plains of Karbala, Imam Hussain (AS) sacrificed his entire family instead of bargaining on principles and rejected allegiance to falsehood.

This is the Hussaini philosophy that teaches that when it comes to ideology, truth and human rights, the path of sacrifice is chosen instead of expediency. He stressed that “Karbala teaches us that heads can be cut off but they cannot be bowed down to falsehood.”

He further said the sacrifice of the Supreme Imam (AS) is not for any one school of thought but for the whole of humanity.

He reiterated that the history of the Pakistan People’s Party is also about protecting the rights of the oppressed and the struggle against dictatorship and false forces, which they derive from the philosophy of Karbala.

At the end of his statement, he expressed resolve that the entire nation, including the people of Chiniot district, must pledge today to play their full role in eliminating injustice, oppression and hypocrisy from society by making the character of Hussaini the torch of guidance.
