SANGHAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) District Sanghar Information Secretary Imran Dhamrah on Thursday day strongly condemned what he termed India’s “water aggression” and expressed full support for Pakistan’s stance on the Indus Waters Treaty.
Talking to APP, Imran Dhamrah said the Indus Waters Treaty was an important international agreement ensuring a fair distribution of river waters between Pakistan and India, but India had repeatedly taken steps against the spirit of the treaty.
He said water was a vital resource for Pakistan’s agriculture, economy and the survival of its people, adding that any attempt to exert pressure over Pakistan’s share of water was unacceptable.
Dhamrah said India’s construction of dams and other projects affecting the natural flow of rivers was not only a violation of the treaty but could also threaten peace and stability in the region.
He urged the international community and relevant global institutions to take serious notice of the matter and ensure that India strictly adhered to the Indus Waters Treaty.
He said Pakistan would continue to raise its voice at every forum for the protection of its legitimate water rights.
The PPP leader added that his party had always stood at the forefront in safeguarding national interests and defending the rights of the people, stressing that no compromise would be accepted on the issue of water resources.
