PPP Labour Bureau to mark May Day across Pakistan with rallies, seminars

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Labour Bureau In-charge Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad Monday announced that International Labour Day will be observed across Pakistan with great enthusiasm, in line with celebrations around the world.

He said rallies, processions and seminars would be organized to pay tribute to the historic sacrifices of the Chicago martyrs and to highlight the importance of workers’ rights.

Chaudhry Manzoor said district-level rallies will be held in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He said the working class in Pakistan was currently facing severe challenges and was under increasing pressure.

Chaudhry Manzoor said workers had received significant rights and benefits during the governments of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari.

Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad directed all provincial presidents to finalize their respective May Day programmes and inform the central leadership.

He also appealed to party workers and Labour Bureau office-bearers living abroad to participate in rallies and demonstrations in their respective countries.
