PPL launches Rs521m community development schemes in Balochistan

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has launched a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives worth about Rs521 million in Balochistan aimed at supporting education, skills development and community infrastructure in District Dera Bugti.

According to a press release issued on Friday, the schemes were formally launched at a ceremony held in Sui, where Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti attended as chief guest. The event was hosted by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PPL Mohammad Khalid Rehman.

Managing Director Amin Rajput of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, members of the National Assembly, district officials, company representatives and local notables also attended the ceremony.

On the occasion, the PPL chief presented three donation cheques to the Balochistan chief minister for implementation of the new CSR schemes.

Under the skill development programme, PPL has allocated Rs121 million to Balochistan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority to train 50 local youth and facilitate their overseas employment in potential international markets, including the Gulf and Europe.

Another Rs95 million has been provided to Balochistan Education Endowment Fund to fund scholarships for 64 students from the province from Primary to higher secondary level, covering admission, tuition, boarding and lodging expenses.

In addition, Rs152.45 million has been released as the first tranche for the rehabilitation of 14 educational and healthcare facilities in District Dera Bugti that were established more than a decade ago. The total estimated cost of the rehabilitation project stands at Rs304.906 million.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti outlined his vision for a prosperous Balochistan and appreciated PPL’s continued efforts to uplift underserved communities through its CSR programme.

He said such initiatives complemented the government’s efforts to promote socio-economic development and create sustainable opportunities for local communities across the province.
