Policeman martyred, laid to rest with full official honors in Tank

TANK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Mar, 2026) A police constable was martyred in firing by Fitnatul Khawarij terrorists, police said here on Tuesday.

According to police, the incident occurred late last night within the limits of Mulazai police station, where constable Jehanzaib was on duty when assailants opened sudden fire at the station.

He sustained critical injuries and embraced martyrdom.

The attackers managed to flee after the assault.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace and apprehend those involved in the attack.

The funeral prayer of the martyred constable was offered at police lone Tank with full official honors.

Senior officials including DPO Abdul Sammad Khan, Commandant SHS Tank, DO FC Tank, representatives of the civil administration, fellow officers, and family members attended the ceremony in large numbers.

A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honor, and floral wreaths were laid on the coffin.

The DPO said that constable Jehanzaib set a high example of bravery and duty by sacrificing his life in the line of duty.

He vowed that those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice and that efforts to maintain peace and security in the district would continue with full resolve.
