ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2026) Police have solved the murder of an eight-year-old boy in Chiniot and arrested the victim's cousin for allegedly killing him following a dispute, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, the body of Muhammad Ahmed was found in a sugarcane field earlier this month. Senior police officers and a Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) team reached the scene, collected evidence and registered a murder case against unidentified suspects at Muhammadwala Police Station.
District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif constituted a special investigation team under the supervision of the DSP of Lalian Circle to trace the killer.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>During the investigation, SHO Muhammadwala Police Station Sub-Inspector Arsalan Zafar and his team used forensic evidence, modern technology and human intelligence to identify and arrest the victim's cousin.
Police said the suspect confessed to killing Muhammad Ahmed after a quarrel and allegedly stabbed him to death. Further legal proceedings are underway.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif commended the investigating team for solving the case and awarded officers certificates of appreciation in recognition of their performance.
