Police smash gang of robbers, 3 held with looted valuables

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) Khanewal police smashed a three-member gang of criminals in an operation and recovered looted valuables including cash, mobile phones and illegal weapons in Sadar Main Channu area.

Police spokesman said on Thursday that three members of the Haidri gang allegedly involved in multiple robbery and theft incidents were arrested including the ring leader Haider Hanjra and accomplices Hasnain Haider and Jamal alias Kamal.

Police recovered Rs 306,000 in cash, several mobile phones and three pistols from the accused.

Operation was carried out on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid under the supervision of SHO Muhammad Waqar.

Police claimed to have traced nine cases of robbery and theft during investigation that is still underway to recover more stolen items and identify other possible accomplices.

The DPO appreciated the police team for the successful operation and said that indiscriminate action against criminals would continue to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
