Police recover three abducted girls after Ministers' notice

MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The police recovered three abducted girls as Sindh Home Minister, Delbar Mehar Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar ordered an immediate report after their abduction in the jurisdiction of Delbar Khan Mahar police station, the police spokesman said on Tuesday.

The police recovered the victims and arrested two suspects, including a police officer, the police said.

According to police, the girls were abducted at gunpoint on May 17 following a dispute linked to a love marriage.

Acting on directives from DIG Mirpurkhas Range Faisal Abdullah Chachar, a special police teams were formed under the supervision of SSP Mirpurkhas, Syed Fida Hussain Shah to secure the recovery of the girls and apprehend the responsible.

The police said a case was registered at Delbar Khan Mahar police station .

During raids conducted at various locations, the police arrested two suspects identified as Afzal Mari and Bahadur Mari, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) in the police force, they added.

They said the three girls were recovered safely during follow-up operations carried out on the identification of the arrested suspects.

The police added that the recovered girls underwent medical examinations and were later presented before a court for further legal proceedings based on their statements.

DIG Chachar said operations would continue until all suspects involved in the case are arrested, adding that crimes involving the abduction of women and minor girls would not be tolerated.
