Police plan for foolproof security in cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) The police have planned to enforce a strict and foolproof security plan for cattle markets across the district for protection of citizens and traders ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

A police spokesman said here on Sunday that the security has been placed on high alert at all nine cattle markets established in different parts of the district where more than 200 police officers and personnel are performing security duties round the clock.

He said that the police have established a strong security cordon around major cattle markets located in Roshanwala, Sandal Bar, Jaranwala, Chak Jhumra, Khurarianwala, Samundri and Tandlianwala.

Special pickets and checking points have also been set up at important locations to monitor the movement of suspicious persons and vehicles, he added.

He said that the security arrangements included deployment of Elite Force personnel, mobile patrolling units, motorcycle squads and continuous monitoring through picket points to maintain law & order in and around the cattle markets.

He said that walk-through gates, metal detectors and CCTV cameras had been installed at entry and exit points of the cattle markets to ensure comprehensive checking of visitors and vehicles.

Strict surveillance is also being maintained on suspicious and criminal elements to prevent any untoward incident, he added.

Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain said that all available resources were being utilized to safeguard the lives and property of citizens besides providing a secure environment for traders and buyers visiting the cattle markets.

He directed the police officers to remain vigilant and ensure effective implementation of the security plan throughout the Eid season.
