KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) A police official and a 13-year-old boy were killed on Thursday in two separate shooting incidents near the Water Springs area of Jungle Khel in Kohat, prompting calls from local residents for tighter security and swift action against those responsible.

In the first incident, Rahim Khan Shinwari, a police officer posted in Kurram district, was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen near the Water Springs. Police said the attackers fled the scene after opening fire, while investigators have launched a probe to identify and arrest the assailants.

In a separate incident near the same locality, 13-year-old Naqeebullah, a resident of Mian Garhi, was struck by gunfire while reportedly caught in the crossfire. The schoolboy was taken to hospital with critical injuries but later died during treatment.
