Police Inspector killed in truck collision

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) A police inspector was killed after a speeding truck hit his motorcycle in the district, the Rescue 1122 Sources said on Wednesday.

Inspector Hasnain Sajjad Shah, serving in the Special Branch in Multan, was returning to his home in Muzaffargarh after completing his duty when the accident occurred, according to police sources.

The truck driver fled the scene after the collision and police said efforts were under way to trace and arrest him.

A police spokesperson said District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah visited the District Headquarters Hospital after receiving news of the inspector’s death.

Expressing grief over the incident, the DPO said the sudden death of the Inspector had caused deep sorrow within the police force.

“He was a noble, highly capable and honest police officer,” the DPO said, adding that the department stood with the bereaved family in their time of grief.
