Police initiates large scale operation against illegally residing foreign nationals

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) Senior Superintendent of Police Shaheed Benazirabad, Sameer Noor Channa, under the directives of Inspector General Police Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, and on the special instructions of Deputy Inspector General Police Shaheed Benazirabad Range, Faisal Bashir Memon, has initiated a large-scale crackdown against illegally residing foreign nationals in the district in view of the prevailing security situation.

According to police spokesperson, targeted search operations are underway in suspected locations and settlements within the jurisdiction of all police stations across the district. Sindh Police’s modern technology, the Talaash App, is being utilized to conduct on-the-spot biometric verification of suspected individuals in order to immediately determine their nationality and check any criminal record.

Strict snap-checking has also been initiated at entry and exit points of city as well as at key intersections, where thorough monitoring of all individuals is being carried out.

SSP Sameer Noor Channa said that this campaign against illegally residing individuals will continue without discrimination to ensure law and order and safeguard the citizens. He directed police officers to carry out operation with professionalism while fully respecting human rights. He said that the objective is to make the district crime-free and to suppress anti-social elements with the help of modern technology. No illegally residing individual will be given any leniency.
