Police crackdown in Chiniot, 12 arrested, illegal activities curbed

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) A comprehensive crackdown against criminal elements is underway across the district, in the past 24 hours, Chiniot Police have arrested 12 suspects involved in various illegal activities as part of intensified law enforcement efforts.

Two individuals were apprehended during operations targeting drug dealers, with more than 50 liters of liquor recovered. Additionally, one suspect was arrested for illegal advertising activities. Nine other accused were taken into custody for offenses including illegal gas refueling, possession of unlicensed weapons, and reckless driving.

As a result of traffic violations, 100 vehicles were issued challans, and fines exceeding Rs. 200,000 were imposed on violators.

DPO Dr. Naveed Atif stated that concrete measures are being implemented to safeguard citizens’ lives and property. He emphasized that both human resources and modern technology are being utilized to track down criminals.

He further urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or by dialing 15, reaffirming the department’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the district.
