HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Taluka Nawabshah Police carried out a major crackdown against narcotics smuggling and arrested three inter-district suppliers, foiling an attempt to transport a large consignment of drugs. The initiative was taken on the directives of SSP Shaheed Benazirabad, Sameer Noor Channa.

According to a police spokesperson, the action was part of an ongoing operation against drug dealers across the district. During snap checking at entry and exit points of the city, police intercepted a suspicious Suzuki Swift car. Upon searching the vehicle, a significant quantity of narcotics was recovered. Police arrested three alleged suppliers on the spot.

The accused were identified as Unar Jam, son of Qurban Ali Unar; Soomar, son of Muhammad Yousuf Unar; and Rafiq, son of Rasool Bux Unar. During the operation, police recovered 80 packets of Safina gutka (mawa/supari), cash amounting to Rs 250,000, believed to be proceeds from drug sales, and the vehicle used for smuggling.

During initial interrogation, accused reportedly confessed that they were transporting narcotics for distribution in various areas and neighborhoods of city. The timely and professional action by Taluka Nawabshah Police successfully prevented drugs from reaching local communities.

In his statement, SSP Sameer Noor Channa reiterated that the crackdown against drug dealers would continue without discrimination until the district is cleared of narcotics. He emphasized that no leniency would be shown to those poisoning the youth and appreciated the performance of Taluka Nawabshah Police. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections at Taluka Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
