Police bust three street crime gangs, five held in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Police have arrested five suspects belonging to three gangs allegedly involved in street crime and motorcycle theft during separate operations in the city.

Police also recovered eight stolen motorcycles, two mobile phones and cash amounting to Rs11,200 believed to have been snatched from citizens.

According to police spokesman, New Town Police arrested two members of a gang involved in motorcycle theft and recovered six stolen motorcycles from their possession.

In a separate operation, Ganjmandi Police apprehended a suspect allegedly involved in motorcycle theft and snatching incidents, recovering a stolen motorcycle, a mobile phone and cash worth Rs6,000.

Meanwhile, Pirwadhai Police arrested two members of another gang involved in motorcycle theft and snatching, and recovered a stolen motorcycle, a mobile phone and Rs5,200 in cash.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Saad Arshad said the arrested suspects would be challaned in court with solid evidence to ensure legal action against them. He added that those targeting citizens’ lives and property could not escape the law.
