KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Police in Kohat on Thursday foiled a gambling operation and arrested 15 suspects during a raid conducted on the directives of District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi. The action was carried out by Mails Police as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal activities in the district.

The raid was led by Station House Officer Khizar Fareed Khan, who targeted a gathering where individuals were allegedly placing bets on partridge fights. Police apprehended all suspects on the spot and dismantled the illegal setup.

During the operation, authorities recovered Rs. 222,000 in cash believed to be stake money, along with 11 partridges, all of which were taken into custody as evidence. The suspects have been booked under relevant provisions of the gambling law and shifted to the police station for further legal proceedings.

Police officials said the crackdown reflects their continued resolve to eliminate social vices, including gambling, and warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in such unlawful practices.
