According to police, the complainant, Samiur Rehman, told authorities that the suspect, Tanveer Iqbal Awan, allegedly collected 4.

7 million Pakistani rupees to cover visa, air ticket and other expenses for sending him to Canada.

Police said the suspect failed to arrange the overseas travel or return the money. He later allegedly issued a cheque worth 4 million rupees, which was dishonoured by the bank due to insufficient funds.

The complainant also alleged that the suspect threatened to kill him when he demanded repayment.

Police registered a case and arrested the suspect, a resident of Taxila. The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
