Police arrest Inter-district traffickers recovering gutka

NAWABSHAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) District police, in a major operation against narcotics, successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of gutka and arrested inter-district traffickers. The operation was conducted by police in the jurisdiction of Panhal Khan Chandio Station, under the directives of SSP Sameer Noor Channa.

According to a police spokesperson, the operation was carried out as part of an ongoing campaign to eliminate narcotics from the district. Acting on confidential information, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Panhal Khan Chandio Police Station set up a checkpoint and intercepted a suspicious Toyota Corolla car reportedly being used to transport narcotics.

During a thorough search of the vehicle, police recovered 14 sacks concealed inside the car. Upon inspection, the sacks were found to contain 770 packets of Z-21 gutka, which hold significant value in the illegal market.

Two suspects present at the scene were arrested and identified as Aamir Ali Brohi and Muhammad Usman Jatoi.

During initial interrogation, the accused confessed that they were transporting the narcotics for distribution across various districts of Sindh. SSP Sameer Noor Channa praised the efforts of the SHO and his team for the successful operation, stating that drug dealers are enemies of humanity and that the crackdown against them is intensifying.

He added that the recovery of 770 packets is a clear indication of the effectiveness of the ongoing campaign. Police have registered a case under FIR No. 29/2026 and have initiated further investigation to trace and apprehend other members of the network.
