Police arrest driver after fatal road accident claims two motorcyclists’ lives

Police have arrested a driver involved in a fatal road accident in the New Town area, in which two motorcyclists lost their lives

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Police have arrested a driver involved in a fatal road accident in the New Town area, in which two motorcyclists lost their lives.

According to a police spokesperson, the accused was allegedly driving a speeding vehicle recklessly when it struck a motorcycle carrying two riders who were died on the spot.

Following the incident, the driver fled the scene in an attempt to avoid arrest.

However, New Town Police registered a case and initiated an investigation, which led to the successful arrest of the suspect.

Police further stated that legal proceedings are underway and all aspects of the accident are being thoroughly examined.

SP Rawal Saad Arshad said that strict action is being taken against negligent and reckless drivers, adding that anyone endangering public lives through irresponsible driving will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
