Police arrest accused in sexual assault, torture case

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Police on Tuesday have arrested the accused involved in a blind murder/assault-style case of sexual violence and torture against a minor student.

According to details, on May 4, an unidentified suspect allegedly committed sexual assault and subjected a minor student to torture before abandoning him in a graveyard and fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, police registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s mother and initiated an investigation.

During the investigation, Abbottabad Police arrested the accused, identified as Nauman son of Tahir, and obtained a three-day physical remand from the court for further interrogation.

Police officials said the accused is a relative of the victim. SP Jameel and SP Ayaz also addressed a press conference and shared details of the investigation progress. Further investigation is underway.
