Police arrest 76,048 POs, 18,060 court absconders

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Police arrested more than 76,048 proclaimed offenders (POs), 18,060 court absconders

and 9,000 criminals during a vigorous province-wide crackdown during the current year.

According to a spokesperson, the arrested POs included 20,611 Category-A and 55,437 Category-B offenders.

Similarly, police arrested 1,060 Category-A and over 17,000 Category-B court absconders during the crackdown.

Police also rounded up 9,482 habitual criminals, including 3,473 Category-A and 6,009 Category-B offenders.

In Lahore, the operation led to the arrest of 15,568 POs, 7,841 court absconders and 3,590 habitual criminals.

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem appreciated the performance of police teams and directed the field formations to further intensify operations against criminal elements and ensure strict action against wanted offenders.
