The police arrested 630 accused and registered 527 cases during the current year over violations of the Tenancy Act
FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The police arrested 630 accused and registered 527 cases during the current year over violations of the Tenancy Act.
According to police spokesman Tariq Jutt, strict implementation of the Tenancy Act is continuing on the directions of City Police Officer.
He said that 527 cases had so far been registered against violators of the Tenancy Act while 630 accused involved in non-registration of tenants and related violations were arrested and sent behind bars. He said that the campaign was aimed at ensuring proper documentation of tenants and preventing criminals and proclaimed offenders from using rented properties as hideouts.
Meanwhile, CPO Tanveer Hussain said that strict legal action would also be taken against property owners who failed to register their tenants with police authorities. He said that registration in the Police Tenant Registration System was a legal responsibility of both landlords and tenants and warned that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said that Tenant Registration System was playing an effective role in identification and arrest of criminals and proclaimed offenders.
He directed all SHOs to ensure registration of tenants in their respective areas without exception and further instructed property owners to complete tenant registration through the police mobile application “Tenant Registration”.
He urged citizens to act as responsible members of the society by ensuring compliance with the Tenancy Act, adding that elimination of crime and establishment of peace were only possible through mutual cooperation between police and the public.
The elements violating the law did not deserve any leniency and crackdown against violators would continue across the district, he added.
