Police arrest 2 suspected drug dealers, seize hashish over 5 Kgs

NOWSHERA VIRKAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) The police arrested two suspected drug dealers and seized hashish 5,420 grams during a patrol operation, the police spokesman said on Tuesday.

The operation was carried out under the directives of the Gujranwala City Police Officer (CPO) and supervised by Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Riaz Gondal, he said.

The police said Sub-Inspector Rana Naveed Akhtar Shahbaz Ahmed Hanjra and his team stopped and searched the suspects, identified as Salman and Mubarak Ali and recovered a large quantity of hashish from their possession.

He said separate cases had been registered against the suspects and further investigation was underway.

Deputy Superintendent, Police (DSP) Ansar Farooq Mann said drug traffickers were "a scourge on society" and vowed that the police would continue operations against narcotics-related crimes.
