Poets, writers seeks establishment of institution named after Gul Hassan Kalmati

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan in its weekly series of literary session hosted an event to pay tribute to Gul Hasan Kalmati, a renowned writer, researcher and historian, on the occasion of his 3rd death anniversary,

According to a press release, in the gathering, poets and writers urged that an institution named after Gul Hassan Kalmati should be established.

Prof. Dr. Qazi Khadim presided over the meeting.Writer Mansoor Qadir Junejo said that Gul Hasan Kalmati gave importance to the pen, he proved through the power of the pen that Sindhis are the real heirs of Karachi.

Ali Nawaz Pali said that a character like Gul Hasan Kalmati will be remembered always.Writer and poet Prof. Sattar Sarohi said that Gul Hasan Kalmati was the history of the people who grew up.

He gave a book like Marvi of Karachi Sindh.

It is a pity on the occasion of the death anniversary of such a personality Gul Hasan Kalmati was not remembered by any institution of Sindh.

In the meeting, writer and journalist Saleh Katiyar, writer Sikandar Ali Khoso, writer and poet Qazi Maqsood, storyteller Saleem Chana, Ehsaas Merel, Darya Khan Pirzado and Niaz Masroor Badvi spoke about the life, art, personality and books written by Gul Hasan Kalmati and their characters.

On this occasion, Noor Hussain Kalhoro recited a poem, Saqi Mansoor sang a song, Faqir Sikandar Ali Wai and Saleem Chana recited a ghazal. While the poet Muhammad Ayub Junejo sang Wafa Pali’s Ghazal and received applause.

Rehan Ali, Muhammad Yaqub Dahri and Ali Hasnain also participated in the meeting.
