LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone arrested three alleged human traffickers, including a proclaimed offender (PO), involved in migrant smuggling and visa fraud during major operations conducted by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrested suspects were identified as Abbas Salheri, Liaqat Ali and Muhammad Asif. The accused were apprehended from different areas of Lahore and Sialkot.
The spokesperson added that suspect Abbas Salheri allegedly defrauded a citizen of Rs4.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>6 million on the pretext of arranging a Turkish work visa, while Liaqat Ali received Rs3.1 million from another citizen by promising a Canadian work visa.
Similarly, accused Asif Butt allegedly extorted Rs200,000 from a citizen by offering a Malaysian work visa. He had been wanted by FIA Lahore since 2014.
The accused failed to send the victims abroad and went into hiding after collecting the money. The FIA has arrested the suspects and initiated further investigation.
