ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) successfully organized “Media Workshop 2026” under the banner of “Bunyan Al-Marsoos” as part of the one-year commemorative activities of Marka-e-Haq, aiming to highlight the positive and professional role of media, strengthen the national narrative, and familiarize youth with contemporary media trends and requirements.
Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture, Farah Naz Akbar attended the event as chief guest and emphasized the importance of responsible journalism, fact-based reporting, and promotion of national values among the younger generation.
She appreciated the efforts of PNCA and said such initiatives played a significant role in the professional development of youth and in promoting national awareness.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from media experts, journalists, students, young media professionals, and participants from various fields of communication and journalism.
Detailed sessions were conducted on journalism, media production, digital media, national narrative building, and responsible journalism.
Distinguished speakers included Farkhanda Shamim, acclaimed writer, poet, and former ptv news Controller; Zulfiqar Baig; Shakeel Ahmed Awan; and Azher Hafeez.
The participants were also provided practical learning opportunities and interactive question-and-answer sessions.
Speakers stressed that responsible media not only strengthened the national narrative but also played a vital role in projecting a positive image of Pakistan globally.
They also highlighted the importance of promoting national identity, unity, national security, and acknowledging the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
Director General PNCA, Muhammad Ayoub Jamali thanked the guests, speakers, and participants for their contribution to the successful event. He said media played a fundamental role in shaping the national narrative and that responsible journalism was the need of the hour.
He reaffirmed PNCA’s commitment to organizing constructive programmes in the future for youth development, promotion of national culture, and strengthening a positive national narrative.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar along with DG PNCA Muhammad Ayoub Jamali distributed certificates among the participants and congratulated the organizers on successfully conducting the event.
