PML-N leaders reaffirm commitment to political stability, public welfare

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) on Monday reaffirmed their commitment to political stability, national development and public welfare during a consultative meeting held in Rawalpindi.

The meeting, attended by central and local party leaders, reviewed the country’s overall political situation, public issues, organisational matters and the party’s future political strategy. Participants reiterated their confidence in the party leadership and pledged to continue the mission of national development and democratic stability.

Among those attending were Member of the National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb, Senator Chaudhry Tanveer Khan, Malik Abrar Ahmed, Seema Jilani, former mayor Sardar Naseem Ahmed Khan, Haji Pervez, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Daniyal Chaudhry and Members of the Punjab Assembly Ziaullah Shah, Malik Iftikhar Ahmed, Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate, Malik Mansoor Afsar, Zebun-Nisa Awan, Tahseen Fawad, Shazia Rizwan and Asma Naz Abbasi.

Other participants included PML-N leaders Haji Umar Farooq, Pirzada Rahat Quddoosi, Javed Mughal and Farooq Khattak.

Addressing the meeting, speakers said the party’s politics had always centred on public service, national development and strengthening democratic values. The participants expressed confidence in PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, stating that he had historically played a key role in steering the country out of crises, stabilising the economy and advancing development initiatives.

The leaders said the party leadership possessed the ability to ensure political and economic stability, adding that public trust remained the PML-N’s greatest strength.

The meeting also appreciated the performance of the federal government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. Speakers said the premier was working to address economic challenges, curb inflation and provide relief to the public. They added that the government was taking steps to restore the economy, complete development projects, and encourage investment.

Participants also praised the public welfare initiatives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and ongoing development projects across the province. Speakers said improvements were being witnessed in the health, education, infrastructure and public service sectors under her leadership.

The meeting stressed the need to strengthen coordination between party workers and leadership to further activate and organise the party structure. Participants agreed to intensify the consultative process to address public issues, expand organisational activities and effectively convey the party’s message to the public.

The leaders reiterated their resolve to continue political efforts for public service, national development and democratic stability, adding that party workers would stand by the leadership in all circumstances.
