PM Shehbaz forms high-level committee on One Constitution Avenue issue

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday formed a high-level committee on the One Constitution Avenue issue.

The committee will be headed by Federal Law and Justice Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and will include Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Cabinet Secretary and the Commerce Secretary as its members.

The committee will review the entire matter within the next week and present a comprehensive report to the Prime Minister.

During this period, any affected person may submit their representations to the committee, which will hear all parties and affected individuals without discrimination.

Until the Prime Minister makes a final decision on the matter, no action will be taken by the Islamabad administration or the CDA.

The Prime Minister has issued directives to establish this special committee to ensure that the requirements of justice are fully met in the One Constitution Avenue case.
