KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Following the sighting of the Zil Hajj crescent, a festive, carnival-like atmosphere has engulfed Karachi’s central Northern Bypass Awam Dost Cattle Market.

Immediately after the moon was sighted, a massive influx of citizens headed to the market to purchase sacrificial animals. This led to a tremendous rush of buyers and traders, propelling market activity to its peak.

Exceptional arrangements for lighting, water supply, and high security made by Administrator Tariq Tanoli have become a source of special interest and satisfaction for the visitors.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister’s Spokesperson for Sindh, Barrister Raja Khaleeq-uz-Zaman Ansari, and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Muhammad Aslam Abro paid a detailed visit to the cattle market, accompanied by Administrator Tariq Tanoli and Media Cell In-charge Zaki Abro. During the visit, Administrator Tariq Tanoli escorted both political leaders through various VIP and general blocks, including the Food Street, and briefed them on the facilities being provided. Barrister Raja Khaleeq-uz-Zaman Ansari and Senator Aslam Abro also viewed the beautiful and rare animals brought for Eid-ul-Adha.

Both leaders expressed complete satisfaction with the administrative affairs, exemplary cleanliness, and foolproof security arrangements at the Awam Dost Mandi.

They also interacted directly with the traders and buyers present at the Northern Bypass cattle market and listened to their feedback.

While talking to the media, PM's Spokesperson Barrister Raja Khaleeq-uz-Ansari stated that the government is striving to provide every possible relief and facility to the public on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, and the excellent arrangements at the cattle market stand as a testament to these efforts.

Speaking on the occasion, Senator Muhammad Aslam Abro paid rich tributes to Tariq Tanoli and the Media Cell team, noting that the Karachi cattle market truly presents a picture of a ‘Mini Pakistan.’ He remarked that managing the essential needs of such a vast number of people, alongside the presence of hundreds of thousands of sacrificial animals, is a monumental challenge.

The guests also enjoyed delicious cuisines at the Food Street and praised the quality of food offered by various food chains established there.

Concluding the visit, Tariq Tanoli and Media Cell Spokesperson Ms. Umm-e-Aiman presented traditional Sindhi Ajraks and gifts to the guests. The dignitaries extended their special gratitude to the core members of the Media Cell management, including Habibullah, Zeeshan Haider Abro, Fayyaz Khan, Saqib Alam, Humayun Khan, Imdad Ali, and Naeem Shah.
