ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Monday chaired a meeting to review the country's petroleum product reserves in view of regional tensions.
He directed to continue constant monitoring of oil consumption in the country.
Due to constant monitoring of oil consumption and reserves and better strategy, an oil shortage crisis did not arise despite regional tensions, he said adding, "The steps taken to provide relief to the people will continue."
In the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed about the current oil reserves in the country and future requirements.
It was told that the country has adequate quantities of petroleum products, but it is necessary to maintain austerity. In view of future needs, arrangements have been made for the import of oil.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and senior officers of relevant institutions.
