Planning Secretary reviews South Punjab projects, praises Burewala Press Club

BUREWALA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) Additional Secretary Planning and Development (South Punjab) Akhtar Mandera on Thursday reviewed the progress of ongoing Punjab government development schemes in Burewala, directing officials to complete all projects on schedule while maintaining the prescribed quality standards.

During his visit, Mandera also toured the Burewala Press Club, where he inspected the building and commended its construction and upkeep, describing it as a model facility that reflects the commitment of the local journalistic community.

Addressing journalists, he said the media serves as a vital link between the public and state institutions by promoting awareness and strengthening society.

He noted that the expansion of digital media has placed greater responsibility on journalists to ensure accurate, balanced and responsible reporting.

Mandera also lauded the Burewala Press Club for its role in highlighting public issues and encouraging positive social change through professional journalism. Office-bearers of the Press Club and local journalists held discussions with the visiting official on matters concerning the media and public interest.
