PHA meeting reviews urban beautification, Eid arrangements

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Mar, 2026) Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) Additional Director General Mirza Waleed Baig held a meeting with the managing directors of district horticulture agencies to review performance and discuss ongoing horticulture operations across major cities of the province.

The ADG presided over the Zoom session and received detailed briefings from the MDs of Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Gujranwala agencies. The district heads presented updates on plantation drives, maintenance of parks and green belts, nursery operations, and upkeep of public recreational facilities.

Addressing the meeting, Mirza Waleed Baig outlined the PHA’s special preparations for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. He said the authority, on the instructions of Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmad, has initiated a comprehensive beautification campaign, including seasonal flower plantation, landscaping of major roads, trimming and pruning of trees, repair of fountains, and improved cleanliness arrangements in parks and public spaces.

“The objective of these steps is to provide a pleasing environment for the public and enhance the aesthetic value of our public spaces,” he said, adding that all district agencies have been directed to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks.

Mirza Waleed Baig also instructed field teams to maintain close monitoring of ongoing works and submit regular progress reports to the head office. He also directed to further strengthen coordination among district agencies and ensure uniform standards of horticulture and maintenance across the province.
