Chairing a PFC board of Directors meeting here, he said that meaningful consultation with industry leaders, exporters, manufacturers, artisans, and allied sectors is vital to formulate practical recommendations which reflect ground realities.
All viable suggestions, he assured, would be consolidated in a comprehensive document and presented to relevant authorities, ensuring the voice of the furniture sector is effectively heard at the highest policymaking level.
Highlighting the importance of innovation and modernization, he called for proposals encouraging technological upgradation, skill development programmes, and establishment of dedicated furniture parks.
He said, a well-structured budget, aligned with industry needs, would strengthen Pakistan’s competitiveness in international markets.
Mian Kashif Ashfaq said the furniture industry has immense potential to boost exports, generate employment, and contribute significantly to economic growth, provided it receives adequate policy support and fiscal incentives.
PFC chief urged the stakeholders to propose measures aimed at reducing production costs, rationalizing taxes, facilitating import of raw materials, and enhancing access to affordable financing.
