SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Mar, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Tuesday seized 800 kilograms of meat from sick animals during a targeted operation in the Kot Momin area of Sargodha district.
According to a press release issued by PFA office,acting on a tip-off, food safety teams established a checkpoint and intercepted a vehicle transporting the meat without any legal documentation or health certificates.
A veterinary doctor conducted an on-site inspection and declared the meat unhygienic and unfit for human consumption,following which the consignment was immediately disposed of.
A spokesman of PFA said that the substandard meat was allegedly being transported for supply to various hotels and restaurants in the region.
Meanwhile,the police impounded the vehicle and initiated further investigation into the matter.
He urged citizens to report any such illegal activities or food safety concerns by contacting their helpline at 1223.
