PFA inspects 46 food outlets in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its enforcement drive across the district, inspecting 46 food businesses to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

According to official sources, on the directions of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Sadia Rafat, PFA teams carried out inspections of various food points during the day and issued improvement notices to 19 food business operators for violating hygiene standards.

During the operation, six food outlets were fined a total of Rs141,000 for non-compliance with food safety laws.

In addition, around three kilograms of expired and prohibited food items along with five ice blocks were confiscated and destroyed on the spot.

The authority reiterated that all food business operators must strictly follow hygiene protocols and food safety regulations during the preparation, storage, and sale of food items to ensure public health and safety.
