PFA inspects 116 food outlets in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its crackdown against unhygienic food businesses and inspected 116 food outlets in different areas of Gujrat district.

According to official sources, the inspections were conducted on the directives of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Rizwan Saeed.

During the operation, 65 improvement notices were issued to food outlets over violations of hygiene and food safety regulations.

The sources said the authority also imposed fines amounting to Rs254,000 on 23 food outlets for various violations. In addition, 2.75 kilograms of expired and prohibited food items were confiscated and destroyed during the inspections.

The Punjab Food Authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring the provision of safe and healthy food to citizens and warned that strict action against violators would continue.
