PFA conducts 220 inspections, imposes fines in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Mar, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority carried out 220 inspections across the district and imposed fines on violators.

Food safety teams conducted the inspections on the directives of Deputy Director PFA Gujrat Rizwan Saeed.

According to a PFA spokesperson, improvement notices were issued to 70 food points, while fines totaling Rs188,000 were imposed on 13 outlets over various violations. Three food samples were also collected for laboratory analysis.

The teams discarded 13.5 kilograms of expired and prohibited food items during the raids. The authority said strict action against those violating hygiene and food safety standards would continue without discrimination.
